Plai Essential Oil Plai Therapeutic Essential Oil is an exceptional oil in aromatherapy, highly valued for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions. Botanical Name: Zingiber cassumunar Origin: Thailand Family: Zingiberaceae Aroma: Bright, Uplifting, Peppery, Fresh Aroma Perfume Note: Middle Method of Extraction: Steam distillation Source: Fresh Root Properties: Main Chemical Components: alpha-Pinene, viridiflorol, Limonene, Cineol Blends Well With the essential oils: lavender, clary sage, lemon, marjoram, nutmeg, pine, rosemary Description, Uses and Benefits: Plai essential oil is great for aches and pains, inflammations, joint problems, muscle spasms, sprains and strains, injured muscles and ligaments. Plai oil has a wonderful, bright, uplifting aroma, and is highly regarded for its therapeutic properties in massage. Though a member of the ginger family, (sometimes referred to as "Thai Ginger" essential oil), plai does not have the heat associated with Ginger. Instead, it has an overall 'cooling' effect, providing wonderful relief for swelling and pain of joints and muscles. Plai oil is a valuable component in healing massage blends, and we recommend using it in a 10% dilution. You can also try blending it with other oils, such as helichrysum essential oil, black pepper and lavender, to name just a few. Plai oil has been tested successfully for post-operative pain and inflammation, significantly reducing both pain and swelling. Because of its anti-spasmodic properties, Plai oil can also offer relief from menstrual cramping and pain. Again a 10% concentration of Plai, alone or with other essential oils in a carrier oil, can be massaged around the abdominal area and low back. Plai essential oil is considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing and non-irritating. Aromatherapy Use: |
