Chamomile, Blue-German Essential Oil Chamomile, Blue-German Therapeutic Essential Oil is an essential oil which is an exceptional oil in aromatherapy, highly valued for its anti-inflammatory action. Botanical Name: Matricaria chamomilla or M. recutia Origin: Egypt Family: Asteraceae Aroma: Sweet, earthy, herbaceous Perfume Note: Middle Method of Extraction: Steam distillation Source: Flowers Properties: Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiphlogistic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrizant, digestive, emmenagogue, febrifuge, fungicidal, hepatic, nerve sedative, stomachic, sudorific, vermifuge, vulnerary Main Chemical Components: Chamazulene, (produced during steam distillation, not present in the fresh plant), bisabolol oxide, enyndicycloether, farnesene. Blends Well With the essential oils: Bergamot, jasmine, labdanum, neroli, clary sage, rose Description, Uses and Benefits: chamomile essential oil is also known as Blue Chamomile or Chamomile matricaria. The beautiful, deep blue color comes from chamazulene, the strong anit-inflammatory constituent which is formed during the distillation of the oil. The odor is strongly sweet and adds a warm, long-lasting undertone in perfumes. Blue Chamomile oil is an excellent anti-inflammatory, valuable for menstrual problems, skin rashes, acne, eczema, arthritis and muscular aches and pains. Chamomile essential oil is commonly used in massage oils and herbal mixtures and is gentle enough for children. While Roman and German chamomile essential oils have similar properties, the German has superior anti-inflammatory properties and is an excellent choice for skin problems. Both are wonderful choices for difficulty sleeping, stomach upset, stress, irritability, headaches, PMS, and muscle/joint aches and pains. Both also help reduce chronic tension. Recipe using Blue Chamomile Essential Oil: --Soothing Massage Oil for Menstrual Cramps 5 drops Lavender essential oil 3 drops Marjoram essential oil 3 drops Chamomile essential oil 2 drops Ginger essential oil Blend the essential oils in 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage the abdominal area gently with a circular motion. Aromatherapy Use: muscle relaxant, soothing agent, skin conditioner. |
